Another brewery is preparing to set up shop in downtown Vancouver. Loowit Brewing Company finalized its bank loan Tuesday and is finishing a lease agreement for a location near Esther Short Park at Columbia and West Fifth streets.

The owners, Vancouver natives Devon Bray and Thomas Poffenroth, are close friends with Eric Surface, who recently opened Mt. Tabor Brewing at 113 W. Ninth St. in downtown Vancouver. Poffenroth and Bray have been brewing beer together for about 10 years.

“Eric has been a great source of advice for us,” Bray said.

Loowit, much like Mt. Tabor, will sell beer to local businesses and have a tap room that’s open to the public. Bray said he hopes to open by summer, at the latest.
