LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Roy Williams figures the Chicago Bears are in for some changes. He hopes he's part of their plan.
Williams says he would "be happy" to re-sign with Chicago but will look to play elsewhere if they can't reach a deal. The Bears signed the veteran receiver to a one-year contract following a disappointing run in Dallas, hoping he would rediscover some of the form that made him a Pro Bowl pick with Detroit in Mike Martz's system.
Instead, he struggled at times to get open and had trouble hanging onto the ball. Even so, Williams believes he made enough plays.
He also says he would like to stay in Chicago whether the Bears retain Martz as their offensive coordinator or not. Martz has an expiring contract.
