Whipple Creek — Word is spreading about a couple of recent daylight burglaries in Whipple Creek Place, a 310-home development north of Salmon Creek and south of the Clark County Fairgrounds, bounded by 149th Street, Northeast Second Avenue, Whipple Creek and Northwest Ninth Avenue. Two homeowners reported leaving home briefly in the early morning and returning to find windows pried and homes ransacked. Also, someone knocked on a door late at night but was gone when the resident answered; the association’s management team say they this was probably somebody checking out burglary possibilities. “Please ensure you are locking up your home and turning on any home security systems — even if you are only away for a short while,” said a memo send to residents by Community Management Inc. “Always report such instances and any suspicious behavior to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911.”
