No. 14 WVirginia beats Providence 59-45

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Liz Repella scored 16 points and No. 14 West Virginia bounced back from consecutive road losses with a 59-45 win over Providence on Tuesday night.

Asya Bussie added 14 points and Madina Ali scored 13 for the Mountaineers (20-3, 6-3 Big East), who extended their school record of consecutive home wins to 31.

Mi-Khida Hankins scored 11 points for Providence (9-11, 2-6), which lost to West Virginia for the sixth straight time.

West Virginia scored the first 10 points but didn’t go ahead by double digits for good until Bussie made two free throws with 5:22 left in the game for a 53-43 lead.

West Virginia was coming off losses at No. 9 DePaul and No. 17 Georgetown that dropped the Mountaineers out of the top 10 for the first time since starting the season at No. 11.
