NBC Sports execs take top spots after Comcast deal

NEW YORK (AP) — NBC Sports executives will take the prominent roles in its combined operations with Comcast Corp.

The new NBC Sports Group includes Golf Channel, Versus and 11 Comcast regional sports networks. NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol announced Wednesday that Ken Schanzer would remain his second-in-command and Gary Zenkel would continue to oversee the Olympics.

Former Turner Entertainment Group president Mark Lazarus has been hired as president of the NBC Sports Cable Group, while Comcast Sports Group president Jon Litner will lead Versus and the SportsNets. Former Versus president Jamie Davis is considering other positions within Comcast.

NBC senior vice president Mike McCarley will take over Golf Channel.

NBC executive vice president Jon Miller will become president of programming for NBC Sports and Versus, while executive producer Sam Flood will also add Versus duties to his role.
