Evans leads Wright State over Loyola, (Ill.) 76-63

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — N’Gai Evans scored 22 points, dished out five assists and had three steals to lead Wright State over Loyola (Ill.) 76-63 on Thursday night.

Evans, who was 9 of 14 from the field, led an efficient night for the Raiders (15-9, 8-4 Horizon League). Wright State shot 54.9 percent from the field (28 of 51), was 9 of 17 from 3-point range and had 20 assists, compared to 10 turnovers.

Johann Mpondo added 15 points, Matt Vest 13 and Vaughn Duggins 11 points and five assists for the Raiders. Wright State, which led the whole way, scored the game’s first nine points and pushed its lead to as many as 16 three times.

Ben Averkamp led the Ramblers (13-10, 4-8) with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Geoff McCammon chipped in 14 points for Loyola, which shot 40 percent from the field (24 of 60). The Ramblers were 3 of 16 from 3-point range.
