Ford’s January vehicle sales rose 32 percent in Clark County, in line with a 27 percent increase in national sales for the Dearborn, Mich.-based company and setting the tone for a better year for the auto industry.

“What’s driving it is that financing is more readily available now, where it wasn’t before,” said Jon Creedon, owner and manager of Vancouver Ford off state Highway 500 and Andresen Road.

The dealership’s Ford-only sales increased 40 percent from the previous year, Creedon said. Best-sellers included the F-Series trucks, which range from $17,000 to $50,000, depending on the model, and Ford compact cars such as the Fiesta, Fusion and Focus, which are priced between $13,000 and $20,000. The Vancouver dealership employs 125 people.
