Oakland, Mich., cruises by Western Illinois 88-65

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Reggie Hamilton scored 20 points and Keith Benson had a double-double to spark Oakland, Mich., to its 10th straight victory, an 88-65 decision over Western Illinois on Thursday night.

Larry Wright scored 17 points and Travis Bader 13 for the Golden Grizzlies (17-8, 12-0), who extended their Summit League winning streak to a record 20 games.

Matt Lander led the Leathernecks (7-15, 2-9) with 24 points. Kaimarr Price added 18, and Emeka Okafor Jr. had 11.

Benson had 10 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks, becoming the second player in league history to reach 1,000 points and rebounds. Wright hit five 3-pointers and Hamilton four, and Drew Valentine had five steals.

Lander pulled Western Illinois within 23-22 with 7:30 left in the first half. But Oakland went on a 7-0 run, then led 42-35 at intermission and outscored Western Illinois 46-30 in the second half.
