FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — James Harrison feels a little better after two days of venting about the NFL and “getting this all off my chest.”
The fiery Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker took some critical shots at the league during the first few media sessions at the Super Bowl, calling the NFL’s talk about wanting to protect players “a show.” He says Thursday that he was just speaking his mind, and that it’s a “free world” and “I can say what I want to.”
Harrison was fined $100,000 by the NFL for illegal hits this season, and says that fueled his comments Wednesday and Thursday, adding that he had “100,000 reasons” to sound off.
Harrison says he has no plans to speak with Commissioner Roger Goodell because “I really have nothing to say to him now.”
