Wagner defeats Fairleigh Dickinson 61-57

NEW YORK (AP) — Tyler Murray scored 20 points and Wagner scored the final six points of the game to take a 61-57 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday night.

The Seahawks (11-11, 7-4 Northeast Conference) trailed 57-55 with 1:46 to play, but Fairleigh Dickinson (4-18, 2-9) didn’t score again. Wagner hit four free throws and a layup to pull out its second win in three games.

Josh Thompson’s free throw cut the margin to 57-56 and Latif Rivers converted a three-point play for a 59-57 lead with 33 seconds left.

Murray finished the scoring with two free throws with 23 seconds to play.

Fairleigh Dickinson outrebounded Wagner 45-32, but committed 21 turnovers the Seahawks’ eight.

Rivers and Thompson added 11 points each and Naofall Folahan scored 10 points for Wagner.

Kamil Svrdlik led the Knights with 18 points, Terence Grier had 13 and Mike Scott added 12 points.
