OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — State Rep. Larry Seaquist of Gig Harbor has introduced a bill to create a three-member board to revamp the Washington state ferry system.
The board would be charged with downsizing administration, obtaining and maintaining vessels and focusing on reliable cost-effective service.
The Kitsap Sun reports the Legislature is already considering other bills that would set goals for the ferry system and could put the management out for bid to private companies.
