BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Julius Coles scored 18 points to lead all five Canisius starters in double figures as the Golden Griffins defeated Marist 75-60 on Friday night to split the season series.

Canisius (11-11, 5-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) used a 21-6 spurt late in the first half to take control.

Leading 27-21 with 6:12 to go before the break, the Golden Griffins hit 5 of 7 3-pointers en route to a 48-27 halftime advantage.

Despite a career-high 22 points from Candon Rusin, the Red Foxes (4-20, 3-9) could get no closer than 12 in the second half and lost their seventh straight.

Marist won the previous meeting 74-64 on Dec. 5, but has won only two games since.
