ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Blues recalled goaltender Ben Bishop from Peoria of the AHL as insurance for Jaroslav Halak, who was listed as day to day with an upper body injury.

Ty Conklin was the likely starter Friday night against the Edmonton Oilers in the Blues’ first game since the All-Star break. Halak has played in 39 games, going 17-16-5 with a 2.66 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.

The 24-year-old Bishop was a third-round pick in the 2005 Entry draft. In 26 games with Peoria he’s 13-11-1 with a 2.59 goals-against average and two shutouts.

Bishop, a native of St. Louis, appeared in six games with the Blues in 2008-09 and has a career record of 1-1-1 with a 2.94 goals-against average.
