CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao will have surgery on Feb. 12 to repair a torn tendon in his right ankle.

Varejao suffered the season-ending injury during practice on Jan. 6. After consulting with several physicians, Varejao chose Dr. Robert Anderson, who will perform the operation in Charlotte, N.C. Varejao says his rehab could take up to four months, but he expects to come back at 100 percent.

The Cavs, who carried a 23-game losing streak into Saturday’s game against Portland, have sorely missed Varejao’s inside presence and hustle. He says it’s been frustrating to sit and watch his teammates struggle.
