COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 50-year-old man was fatally shot southeast of Cottage Grove.
The Register-Guard reports deputies responded to a call of a shooting at a home at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and found the victim in the driveway.
Authorities say the victim was David E. Kalal.
Deputies say an initial investigation suggests an altercation between Kalal and another person led to the shooting. They say Kalal and the other person, whose name wasn’t released, have separate residences on the same property.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office and medical examiner are all investigating.
