PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) — Cambodia says that fighting between Thai and Cambodian troops has broken out for a fourth day along their disputed frontier.

Cambodian government spokesman Phay Siphan says the clashes began again early Monday after halting around midnight.

An Associated Press reporter in the area says the sound of machine gunfire and artillery could be heard.

The fighting began Friday and Cambodian officials say Thai artillery has damaged the historic Preah Vihear temple, a U.N. World Heritage Site built more than 900 years ago that belongs to Cambodia under a 1962 World Court ruling disputed by many Thais.
