BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Elton Frazier scored 14 points and Canisius’ defense held Saint Peter’s in check in a 59-45 victory on Sunday.

The Golden Griffins (12-11, 6-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) held the Peacocks (14-10, 9-4) to just 22.4-percent shooting (13 of 58), the lowest-ever field-goal percentage for a Canisius opponent. The Peacocks shot 26.7 percent from 3-point range (4 of 15) and saw their five-game winning streak snapped and a seven-game streak against Canisius end.

Saint Peter’s was also 15 of 22 on free throws and had just eight assists, compared to 16 by the Golden Griffins.

Gaby Belardo added 11 points and Greg Logins chipped in 10 for Canisius, which made just 36.8 percent from the field (21 of 57), but was 6 of 15 outside the arc. It was the Golden Griffins’ fourth win in the last five games.

Wesley Jenkins and Jerron Belin led Saint Peter’s with 11 points each.
