MILAN (AP) — Cesare Rubini, a Hall of Fame member in basketball and water polo, has died at 87.
The International Basketball Federation says he had Alzheimer’s disease.
As a water polo player, Cesini won a gold medal with Italy at the 1948 London Olympics and a bronze medal four years later at the Helsinki Games.
In basketball, he led Olimpia Milano in 1966 to the first European Cup title for an Italian club in 1966. He also coached Italy to a silver medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
