Americans Building Community is leading the development of a community tool library. Kevin Hiebert of ABC says the library will “provide free access to home and garden tools for residents of west Vancouver and provide education, guidance and opportunities for community connections.”

The West Vancouver Tool Library is seeking volunteers and tool donations. Tools can be donated at the Clark County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., from 9 a.m. to noon each Saturday until March 26. No gasoline-powered or broken tools will be accepted. Donations are tax-deductible.

To join the organizing committee, people are encouraged to attend meetings on the second Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church, 2700 E. 28th Street. This month’s meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Hiebert said tools will be available for people living west of Andresen Road/72nd Avenue, including the Hazel Dell, Felida and Salmon Creek areas.
