KELSO, Wash. (AP) — Inmates at the Cowlitz County Jail flushed six or seven blankets and 25 plastic bags down toilets on one day, causing a clog that cost $5,500 to clear.
County commissioners were told the backup on Jan. 28 was more than county crews could handle and they had to call in plumbers to remove the blockage and clean the system.
The Daily News of Longview reports commissioners voted Tuesday to pay the bill.
