SALEM, Ore. (AP) — An aggravated murder trial has been set for January 2012 for an Oregon man accused of killing his parents at their farm near the town of Dallas.

The Statesman Journal reports that prosecutors will seek the death penalty for 20-year-old Andrew Jondle.

Jondle is accused of killing his parents, 61-year-old David Jondle and 58-year-old Marilyn Jondle last August.

Autopsies showed that David Jondle died from multiple stab wounds from a scythe, and Marilyn Jondle died from blunt-force trauma from a metal pipe.

A co-defendant, 47-year-old Cindy Lou Beck, is scheduled for trial in November but prosecutors say they are not seeking the death penalty in her case.

Investigators allege that Andrew Jondle and his girlfriend, Beck, tried to rob his parents, and he also wanted to inherit the family farm.
