MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s Board of Regents has approved pay raises for head coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Paul Chryst.

Bielema’s total compensation package will increase to $2.5 million in the next academic year. His base salary from the university will remain at $400,000, but the amount he’ll receive in program revenue and gift funds will be about $2.1 million and increase $100,000 a year during the new five-year contract.

Chryst will get a base raise to $405,000 a year plus annual additions of $100,000 through Jan. 31, 2016.

The university announced Bielema’s extension two weeks ago, which needed final approval from the regents on Friday.

Wisconsin finished 11-2 and reached the Rose Bowl for the first time in 12 years where they lost 21-19 to TCU.
