Arkansas-Little Rock tops Louisiana-Monroe 61-53

MONROE, La. (AP) — Solomon Bozeman scored 18 points and Marlon Louzeiro added 11 points and 12 rebounds as Arkansas-Little Rock held off Louisiana-Monroe 61-53 on Saturday night.

Alex Garcia-Mendoza also had 14 points for the Trojans (14-12, 6-5 Sun Belt Conference), who defeated Louisiana-Monroe 81-50 on Jan. 13.

Arkansas-Little Rock led by as many as 22, 32-10, with 3:23 remaining in the opening half as the Warhawks (6-21, 1-12) made just 3 of their first 16 shot attempts.

ULM finished the half 5 of 22 from the floor (22.7 percent), including 0 for 7 from 3-point range.

The Warhawks cut the deficit to 51-48 on a pair of R.J. McCray free throws with 5:07 left to play. Bozeman scored eight straight to keep the Trojans in front 59-53 with 1:18 to go.

Fred Brown scored 22 points and Lawrence Gilbert added 17 for Louisiana-Monroe, which has lost eight straight and 10 of 11.
