Cho, Reutter win short track World Cup races

MOSCOW (AP) — American Katherine Reutter captured her second straight and fifth overall victory in short track speedskating this season, winning the women’s World Cup 1,000-meter race Sunday.

Simon Cho of the United States won the men’s 500 meters in 42.157 seconds for his first World Cup win this season.

Reutter won in 1 minute, 32.076 seconds at Megasport Arena a day after she claimed the 1,500 meters. She earned silver in the 1,000 and bronze in the 3,000 relay at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

The final stop of the six-leg World Cup is next weekend in Dresden, Germany.
