McCollum, Lehigh defeat Army 78-64

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — C.J. McCollum scored 22 points to lead Lehigh over Army 78-64 in Patriot League play on Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks (14-11, 5-5) led 39-31 at halftime despite allowing the Black Knights to shoot 52.2 percent from the floor (12 of 23) in the opening half.

Lehigh led 44-37 less than 3 minutes into the second half before extending its lead to 57-37 after a 13-0 run, capped by a jumper from Gabe Knutson with 13:14 left to play. The Mountain Hawks led by double digits the rest of the way.

Ella Ellis scored 13 points, Mitch McDonald added 11 and Brian Hornstein 10 for Army (11-14, 3-7), which has lost six of its last seven games.

Michael Ojo added 16 points and Mackey McKnight 11 for Lehigh, which held the Black Knights to 33.3-percent shooting (12 of 36), including 2 of 13 from 3-point range (15.4 percent) after halftime.
