LOS ANGELES (AP) — Luke Sikma had 21 points and 13 rebounds as Portland defeated Loyola Marymount 71-48 Saturday.

Sikma, who became Portland’s all-time leader in rebounds on Thursday at Pepperdine, is now three points shy of 1,000 for his career. Nemanja Mitrovic added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Pilots (18-8, 5-5 West Coast), who swept the season series after defeating the Lions 79-78 in double overtime on Jan. 14.

Loyola Marymount (9-17, 1-10) struggled offensively without leading scorer and rebounder Drew Viney, who missed his third straight game due to illness and migraines. Larry Davis had 11 points and Anthony Ireland 10 for the Lions, who shot 31 percent from the field and were almost as bad from the free-throw line, making just 6 of 18 attempts.

The Pilots led by as many as 18 points in the first half, then opened the second half on a 9-1 run to take a 45-25 lead and put the game out reach.
