An electrical fire caused about $25,000 damage Sunday afternoon to the Laura De Bonneville residence at 12105 N.E. 49th St. in the North Image neighborhood.
Vancouver firefighters reponded to a report of smoke in an attic at 3:25 p.m.
Vancouver Fire Department Capt. Scott Willis said the problem seemed to start in wiring near roof trusses.
He said 17 firefighters responded and that one lane of 49th Street was closed for a while.
He said De Bonneville and about five other people escaped unharmed. He said he was told De Bonneville does not have fire insurance.
Firefighters left the scene about 5 p.m.
