Buckeyes say loss doesn’t change them

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Although the Ohio State Buckeyes are no longer unbeaten, they want everyone to know they’re not down or embarrassed or obsessing over their only defeat.

As a matter of fact, the Buckeyes are downright defiant as they prepare for Tuesday night’s quick turnaround against Michigan State.

All those dreams of recreating what the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers did — the most recent Division I-A team to go through a season unbeaten — were vaporized by the Badgers’ scalding shooting in the second half on Saturday.

But most of the season goals for the Buckeyes (24-1, 11-1) are still available.

Now Ohio State, down a spot to No. 2 in the latest poll, face a Michigan State team (14-10, 6-6) that knows a win would help people forget a season of struggle.
