Texas State drops Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 66-61

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Ryan White and Cameron Johnson scored 21 points apiece to lead Texas State to a 66-61 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday night.

White made all 12 free throws and had a game-high four steals for the Bobcats (13-12, 8-3), who won their fifth in a row and lead the Southland West. Tony Bishop added 10 points. He and Johnson each had eight rebounds.

Justin Reynolds scored 16 points for the Islanders (8-18, 3-8), who have lost five straight. Reynolds made both of Corpus Christi’s 3-pointers as the team converted only 2 of 17.

Demond Watt, Garland Judkins and Chris Mast added 10 points each. Watt reached double figures for the 10th straight game.

The Bobcats were outshot 42.3 percent to 35.3 percent and outrebounded 38-33. But they hit 27 free throws to the Islanders’ 15.
