SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service says a combination of cold air and unstable winds Tuesday are creating a chance of thunderstorms across Western Washington.

Forecasters say the storms could produce hail or funnel clouds. The Weather Service has activated its Skywarn spotter network.

Forecasters say conditions Thursday could produce wet snow on Thursday in the Western Washington lowlands, mainly on hills above 500 feet. No significant accumulation is expected.

In Eastern Washington forecasters expect heavy snow Tuesday in the Blue Mountains. There’s a chance of rain or snow showers the rest of the week across Eastern Washington.
