AIRPORT GREEN — Airport Green Neighborhood Park is due a — modest — upgrade, according to the Airport Green Neighborhood Association. The neighborhood wants to move the smelly trash bin away from playground benches, add a dog-waste bag dispenser and install a horseshoe pit. All of that means changing the park’s approved master plan. Changing the approved plan means getting an OK from the city parks and recreation department, and doing that means a public meeting to seek comments. The meeting will be 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the regular Airport Green association meeting at Hearthwood Elementary School, 801 N.E. Hearthwood Blvd. The neighborhood wants to use volunteers to install and maintain these amenities.
