TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A 25-year-old Tacoma man has pleaded guilty to killing his 23-month-old daughter.
The News Tribune reports that Andrew Houston III pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder with aggravating circumstances. He faces a possible 25-year-prison term when he’s sentenced in May.
Houston has admitted inflicting the fatal injuries on Briyana Houston in July. Court records say he told investigators he was frustrated over financial issues and the girl’s refusal to eat her dinner.
Doctors who examined Briyana say her injuries included skull fractures, liver damage and severe brain injuries consistent with being violently shaken and hit with something blunt.
