Portland Police Bureau North Precinct Detectives in conjunction with officers from East and Central Precincts, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and Tigard Police Department executed six search warrants and recovered property from seven locations in the Portland Metropolitan area today, February 17, 2011. This was the culmination of an eight month long investigation into one of the largest burglary, identity theft, and stolen property fencing operations in recent history.

38 year-old Steven Terrill was identified as the ringleader of a network of individuals who committed multiple thefts at both commercial and residential properties. Terrill along with other individuals were involved in vehicle thefts, creating fake credit cards and selling stolen property on popular websites such as Craigslist and eBay. The initial investigation revealed these persons have stolen and fenced more than 2 million dollars worth of property over the last 2 years.

33-year-old Ethan Curtis and 20-year-old Alisha Metro were also arrested for their involvement in these crimes. Terrill, Curtis and Metro will be lodged in the downtown Multnomah County Facility later today on multiple charges.

As an example of the extent of his crimes, Mr. Terrill’s residence at 4708 NE 109th Ave. is currently under renovation. The entire house is lifted approximately 12 feet into the air by wooden blocks, house jacks and steel I beams. All of the materials holding his house in the air have been stolen from businesses in Portland and Southern Washington.

North Precinct Detectives are currently on sight at 4708 NE 109th Avenue. Detective Bender is available for interviews this afternoon at that location.

The additional addresses searched today were locations where stolen property was stored before being sold.
