College of Charleston downs The Citadel 85-63

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Willis Hall scored 21 points, leading five College of Charleston players in double figures as the Cougars routed The Citadel 85-63 on Thursday night.

The Cougars (20-7, 13-2 Southern Conference) scored the game’s first 17 points and never trailed on their way to their fifth straight win and the ninth in the last 10 games.

Donavan Monroe added 16 points, while Andrew Goudelock and Antwaine Wiggins each got 15 and Trent Wiedeman had 10 points as the Cougars shot 58.3 percent from the field (35 of 60). Hall went 8 for 8 from the field.

The Cougars turned the ball over four times and got 23 points off 11 Citadel turnovers.

The Bulldogs (9-19, 5-10) outrebounded Charleston 39-29 as Mike Groselle recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and 10 points. The Citadel also got 19 points from Austin Dahn, but fell behind by as many as 23 points and lost its sixth in a row.
