At least three people were displaced from two duplex units in Cascade Park after an electrical fire broke out and the blaze swept through a crawl space near the rear of the adjoined residences.

The fire was reported Thursday at 12:03 p.m. at 600 S.E. 130th Court, in Units 600 and 602. Vancouver firefighters had the fire under control at 12:25 p.m.

A stretch of Southeast Seventh Street was temporarily closed while firefighters ran a hose across the arterial to a hydrant.

No one was injured, said Capt. Dave James of the Vancouver Fire Department.

The power to both units has been shut off while investigators determine what caused the fire. Two occupants of 602 and one resident in 600 will be displaced while the power is out, possibly longer.

“The Red Cross is coming to help out,” James said. “It was enough damage that one of the units will probably be displaced for a while.”

A preliminary damage estimate was not immediately available. Southeast Seventh Street has been reopened.
