MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Ryan Giggs has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester United, agreeing to return for a 22nd season.

The 37-year-old has made a club-record 862 appearances for United since turning professional on Nov. 29, 1990 — his 17th birthday. He made his first-team debut in the League Cup against Everton on March 2, 1991.

Giggs has won 11 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, four FA Cups and three League Cups. The former Wales national team winger has three goals in 24 appearances for United this season.

Giggs said “it’s great to know I’m still contributing to the team’s success and I feel I’ve got a lot to offer on and off the pitch.”
