BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Rain washed out play at the Copa Claro clay-court tournament Friday, forcing organizers to schedule both the quarterfinals and semifinals for Saturday.
Only one quarterfinal got started Friday. The match between No. 4 seed Albert Montanes and No. 8 seed Juan Ignacio Chela was suspended in the third set at 3-all.
The three other quarterfinals will be played early Saturday — Nicolas Almagro vs. Jose Acasuso, David Nalbandian vs. Tommy Robredo, and Juan Monaco vs. Stanislas Wawrinka — with the semifinals set for the evening.
