CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Nik Cochran scored 14 points, leading four Davidson players in double figures, and the Wildcats defeated Presbyterian 71-65 Saturday night.

Tom Droney scored a career-high 12 points and De’Mon Brooks matched it for the Wildcats (15-13, 8-8 Southern Conference). Clint Mann added 10 points.

Pierre Miller led Presbyterian (12-17, 6-10) with 23 points, 16 in the second half. Khalid Mutakabbir added 12 points.

Davidson shot 53 percent from the field (25 of 47), but Presbyterian shot 51 percent (24 of 47), staying within range by making 7 of 15 from 3-point territory.

The Wildcats led 39-26 at halftime and led comfortably most of the second half. But Walt Allen completed a three-point play and Miller followed with two 3-pointers as the Blue Hose scored nine points in 26 seconds. That made the score 68-63 with 45 seconds left, but that’s as close as they came.
