BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Devon Lamb had 11 points and 13 rebounds, and scored the go-ahead basket in the second half as Lamar rallied to beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 73-56 on Saturday night.

Anthony Miles scored 16 points, all in the second half, to lead Lamar (12-14, 6-6 Southland). Mike James added 11 for the Cardinals, who have won three in a row.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (8-19, 3-9) scored the first basket of the second half to lead 43-30. But the Cardinals outscored the Islanders 45-13 the rest of the way. They took the lead for good on Lamb’s basket with 8:50 to go that made it 53-52 Lamar.

Demond Watt led the Islanders with 19 points. Chris Mast added 11 points and eight rebounds.

At halftime, Lamar’s court was named for Billy Tubbs and his wife Pat. Tubbs coached the Cardinals to their first two NCAA tournament appearances in 1979 and 1980.
