DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Brian Keselowski’s feel-good story at Daytona International Speedway appears to be over.

Keselowski was involved in a huge pileup early in the Daytona 500, a wreck that also took out former Sprint Cup champions Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.

Keselowski was the biggest surprise of Speedweeks after receiving help from his brother to earn his first start in NASCAR’s biggest race. Budding NASCAR star Brad Keselowski pushed his older brother around Daytona in a qualifying race earlier this week to help Brian get into the season-opener.

Brian Keselowski raced his way into the field driving a 5-year-old car that he prepared with his father. He recruited his uncle to help at Daytona this week, then got some funding from Discount Tire.
