Forest Ridge neighborhood seeks leader participation

FOREST RIDGE — It’s not a time-consuming job, but it is a crucial one. The Forest Ridge Neighborhood Association is hunting for volunteer leaders willing to run for various offices at its Feb. 24 meeting or, failing that, at a meeting in late April or early May; if nobody steps up to the plate, the group will have to disband.

The president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and communications coordinator positions are all open. There are typically just three or four meetings per year in this relatively small, built-out city neighborhood; not a huge time commitment, according to the latest Forest Ridge newsletter.

City programs such as bulk waste disposal and annual picnics aren’t available to neighborhoods that don’t have a recognized neighborhood association. The next Forest Ridge meeting is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, at Marrion Elementary School, 10119 N.E. 14th St.
