ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — A semi-truck driver saved his truck and escaped injury when his trailer caught fire Monday morning on Highway 101 about 55 miles north of Hoquiam.

The Washington State Patrol says the wheel bearings overheated and caught fire. The flames spread to the trailer and its load of railroad ties.

KXRO reports the driver was able to unhook his truck and move to safety. The trailer was destroyed by the flames. The southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for over six hours.
