Bynes leads George Washington over Charlotte 74-57

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bryan Bynes scored a career-high 16 points to lead George Washington to a 74-57 win over Charlotte on Wednesday night.

Tony Taylor added 15 points and six assists for the Colonials (15-12, 8-5 Atlantic 10 Conference), including 10 of the team’s final 13 points during the last 6 minutes.

George Washington has won three games in a row and five of its last seven. The Colonials have also won nine of the last 12 meetings with Charlotte.

George Washington made four straight 3-pointers to spark a 15-2 run, which put the Colonials ahead 20-12 with 13 minutes left in the first half. The Colonials extended their lead to 39-28 at halftime.

Jamar Briscoe scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half for the 49ers (10-17, 2-11), who lost their fifth straight. Chris Braswell had 15 points and 10 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season for Charlotte.
