ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Anaheim Ducks have signed general manager Bob Murray to a four-year contract extension through 2016.

Murray also is an executive vice president with the Ducks, who announced the deal Friday.

Murray has been in the Ducks front office since 2005, when he became their senior vice president of hockey operations under GM Brian Burke. Anaheim won its only Stanley Cup in 2007.

When Burke left the Ducks in November 2008, Murray was promoted to replace him. He has revamped the Ducks’ roster, notably trading star defenseman Chris Pronger to Philadelphia while securing star forwards Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan to long-term contracts.

Anaheim missed the playoffs last spring for the first time since 2004.
