SE Louisiana beats Central Arkansas 74-63

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Brandon Fortenberry had 16 points and four other Southeastern Louisiana players scored in double figures, beating Central Arkansas 74-63 on Saturday.

Roosevelt Johnson finished with 15 points for the Lions (13-13, 7-7 Southland Conference), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Trent Hutchin had 11 points, while DeShawn Patterson and David Ndoumba each added 10 points.

Southeastern Louisiana trailed 38-36 with 15:47 left in the second half, but used an 11-0 run to claim a nine point advantage. Fortenberry led the spurt with nine points.

Southeastern Louisiana would not allow the Bears (5-22, 1-13) pull closer than five points the rest of the way, leading by as many as 15 points. The Lions shot 53.6 percent (15 of 28) from the field in the second half, holding Central Arkansas to 33.3 percent (10 of 30).

Central Arkansas dropped its eighth straight game.
