UC Riverside outlasts UC Davis 85-81

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Kevin Bradshaw scored 23 points to lead UC Riverside to an 85-81 victory against UC Davis Saturday night.

The Highlanders (10-17, 5-9) overcame 35 points from UC Davis’ Eddie Miller to end a five-game losing streak. They moved two games ahead of UC Davis for the eighth and final spot in the Big West tournament with two games remaining.

Phil Martin scored 21 points and Kareem Nitoto scored 12 for UC Riverside. Nitoto’s basket with 1:07 remaining put the Highlanders ahead for good at 77-76. Nitoto and Martin each made a pair of free throws in the final 20 seconds.

Riverside used a 19-0 run over both halves to build a 48-30 lead before the Aggies came back.

BJ Shearry had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Highlanders.

Miller scored 26 of his 35 points in the second half to bring the Aggies (9-19, 3-11) back into the game.
