Boston University outlasts Vermont 66-64 in OT

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Darryl Partin scored 23 points to lead Boston University over Vermont 66-64 in overtime on Sunday in the season finale for both teams.

The Terriers (18-13, 12-4 America East Conference) led 57-54 in the final minute of regulation before Joey Accaoui nailed a game-tying 3-pointer with 44 seconds left to force overtime.

A 3-point play by Dom Morris gave Boston a 61-59 edge with 1:49 remaining in OT. Matt Griffin and Patrick Hazel combined to go 3 of 4 from the free-throw line in the final 42 seconds to seal it for the Terriers, who have won eight straight and nine of their last 10.

D.J. Irving added 18 points, Griffin had 13 and Morris grabbed 11 rebounds for Boston.

Sandro Carissimo scored 17 points and Brian Voelkel added 12 for the Catamounts (22-7, 13-3). Leading-scorer Evan Fjeld (15.3 points per game) finished with two points in just 11 minutes of play.
