PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Dustin Ackley lined a 3-2 pitch to right field with two out and the bases loaded in the 10th inning, leading the Seattle Mariners to a 13-12 win over the San Diego Padres in the spring training opener for both teams Sunday.

The two clubs combined for 33 hits.

Carlos Peguero, a Mariners outfield prospect, forced a 12-12 tie with a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, then Peguero preserved the tie by throwing out Mike Baxter at the plate when he tried to score from second base on a two-out single in the top of the 10th.

Padres catcher Nick Hundley had a big day, driving a 1-2 pitch from Mariners reliever Denny Bautista over the wall in left-center field as the Padres scored six runs in the fifth.
