SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — A slimmed-down Pablo Sandoval homered for the second day in a row for San Francisco before the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied late to beat the Giants 4-3 on a chilly Sunday afternoon.

Sandoval, who lost 38 pounds with an offseason training regimen, hit an 0-2 pitch from Arizona’s Daniel Hudson far beyond the right-field fence, the ball nearly clearing the grassy slope that serves as a picnic area.

Both this home run and his two-run shot against the Los Angeles Dodgers came from the left-hand side for the big switch-hitter.

Matt Cain allowed three hits in two scoreless innings for the Giants. Arizona scored all four in the fourth on Konrad Schmidt’s leadoff homer, a two-run single by Juan Miranda and an RBI single by Tony Abreu.

Snow dusted the nearby hilltops with temperature at first pitch of 50 degrees.
