NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) — The Lincoln County sheriff’s office says a hit-and-run driver tried to report that his car had been stolen. But, investigators determined the 34-year-old Waldport man was driving the SUV that crashed into last Thursday into a parked car in Waldport and fled the scene.
He was jailed on suspicion of reckless driving, hit-and-run damage and making a false report.
